Model the problem first
I turn product rules into clear data and workflows before adding implementation complexity.
ENG / Practice
Most of my work starts with understanding the rules behind a product, deciding where responsibilities belong, and keeping important state changes predictable. The implementation differs between projects, but these are approaches I tend to reuse.
Practice / From rules to change
Each project link shows where I used the approach and opens the detailed implementation and decisions behind it.
I turn product rules into clear data and workflows before adding implementation complexity.
I give each part of a system a clear job, including who can perform an action and where that rule is enforced.
I keep multi-step changes predictable, especially when balances, approvals, payments, or shared records move together.
I keep external services and devices behind application-owned interfaces so provider details do not spread through the system.
I separate background work, runtime concerns, and performance-sensitive paths so they can change without reshaping the whole product.
